The Newtown Blues club has started the year off in style with their very own and very important Danny Nugent getting a well deserved Hall of Fame Award at the Louth GAA Supporters Awards held on March 25th 2011. Danny was presented with the award by Majella Clarke. It is great to see Danny getting the recognition for his contribution to the GAA and in particular Louth GAA over the years. Danny has represented his club and county on countless occasions throughout his football career and also represented his country when he made the All Star Team in 1973 as a replacement player for Kevin Jer O'Sullivan. This memory was refreshed as the Wee County celebrated the presence of Paddy Keenan on the All Star team for 2010. Let's hope we don't wait as long for the next Louth player.     Danny is still an integral part of the Newtown Blues club and without his presence so many elements of the club would be lost. Congratulations Danny from all the club and well done and well deserved.
