Drogheda Urban Development Project

The Newtown Blues pitch was full of action on Wednesday 20th July with  Louth star Shane Lennon providing the local children with some free coaching tips along with plenty of matches. What made this occasion so special was that Shane remembered that the Mam's and Dad's need looking after too providing tea/coffee and some treats for the spectators. It was a great morning of action from 10am - 1pm and it's great to see some of the teenagers coming along so enthusiastically too. Thanks to Louth stars Shane Lennon, Declan Byrne and Brian Donnelly for giving up their time to entertain the children and thanks of course to Danny Nugent for the treats and getting the pitches ready. It's great the facilities that the GAA provide for FREE to the local communities especially at a time when finances are tight and keeping children active and fit is so important. Go raibh míle maith agaibh. There may be another session in August so watch this space. The three lads were enjoying the star treatment with all the children looking for their jersey's to be signed by the Louth players. It's a great  for the children to meet  their local stars and the Blues are lucky to have their own Louth heros   that provide the children with great training sessions throughout the year. It's great to see the seniors so willing to give back time to the children's sessions.
