U15 1B League Final
2nd  September 2011 in Darver.
Newtown Blues 4-10
Cill Choirle/Malachi 3-10

Blues secured the Div 1B title with a hard fought win over Kilkerley/St Malachy's in Darver. There was very little between the teams for the entire sixty minutes until Alan Smith completed his hat-trick in a thrilling finish. The losers got into their stride straight from the throw in and scored 1-1 before the Blues realised the game was on. However, the Blues dominated for the rest of the first half and Johnny McDonnell scored three beauties, but they should have led by more at the break.

Rain started to fall, but it didn't dampen the excitement or skill on view.  Kilkerley/St Malachy's netted soon after the break and mainatined their grip on the score board for most of the second half and seemed to be heading for victory as the Blues found if difficult to get past their defence.  'Constant dripping wears a stone' and eventually Jordan's direct running and James Carter's probing balls created a few scoring opportunities, a few o of which Alan clinically finished. There was a collective sigh of relief from the Blues' support when the ref blew the whistle to give a deserved victory.  This was a game of football as it is meant to be played - a 'shoot out'

Best for Blues were Alan Wilton, Conor Moore, John Connolly, Conor Farrell and Conor Ayson.
